We only send our brochure or email newsletters to those people who have previously enquired about our products, those who have purchased from us or one of the companies we have acquired. Your name and address is retained on our database.
Future Postal Mailings – Opting Out
We respect your privacy rights and are registered with the Data Protection Register. Our brochure is usually mailed out 4 times a year but we often write to you with special offers or interesting deals from other parties or share our database with other respectable and trusted companies.
If you would prefer not to receive such mailings but are happy for us to write to you with our own offers, then please contact us asking for your details to be put on our “Suppression File”. You can do this by any of the contact methods at the bottom of this page or, if you are placing an order, telling us on the order form.
Alternatively you can remove yourself from all future mailings by contacting us using any of the methods listed at the bottom of this page or, if you are placing an order, telling us on the order form.
Do I have choices regarding how my information is used?
You remain in control of your information. At the time you provide your information, you can choose whether you want to receive further communications about special offers, product information or other marketing messages. You can opt-out of any marketing communications from The Top Shelf at any time by contacting us. All e-mail communications from us, such as newsletters, tell you how to stop receiving them.
Can I access/update my information?
The Top Shelf wants your information and preferences to be accurate and complete. If you would like to access or update the personal information we maintain about you in our systems, contact us using any of the methods below.
How does The Top Shelf secure my personal information?
The Top Shelf uses a variety of safeguards to protect your information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. For example, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology supporting up to 128-bit encryption to prevent unauthorized parties from viewing any personal information transmitted to or from The Top Shelf during your session at our Web site. We only provide access to your personal information to The Top Shelf employees and other authorized parties on a “need to know” basis. We have also registered with Thawte and have obtained digital certificates for our Web site allowing your browser to confirm our server’s identity.
How long will my information be stored?
The Top Shelf believes it is important, for privacy and security reasons, to delete information when it is no longer needed. Data retention periods differ depending on the type of information collected and its intended purpose. For example, we will store your e-mail address if you’ve subscribed to one of our newsletters until you opt-out (tell us you no longer wish to receive communications from us). If you order a product or service from us, shipping and billing information will be archived according to legal requirements. If you send us a question or concern, we will maintain your information for a reasonable period of time and then delete it.
You may request to delete any personal information you have submitted to The Top Shelf by contacting us using any of the methods below. We will then take all reasonable steps to functionally delete all such information from our database.
